I’m a Peruvian documentary filmmaker and educator. More than thirty years ago, I co-founded Guarango Cine y Video together with Stefan Kaspar, an independent studio dedicated to telling stories that connect cultures and create social impact.

My films—among them Hija de la laguna (Daughter of the Lake), Choropampa, and Tambogrande—have traveled to festivals and screens around the world, and have been seen on Netflix, Sundance TV, BBC World News, and Canal N. Today I combine directing documentaries with teaching, as a film professor at the University of Sussex (United Kingdom).
